About the author

You might be thinking: who’s this bozo? Don’t worry, you’re not alone — for the author is asking the same question.

Despite what it looks like, the author is actually an Australian musician whose main profession is performing, and for whom writing is a pastime. For the purposes of maintaining something of a professional profile within the classical music scene as a performer, the author prefers to remain anonymous.

The author also realises the irony in their belief that performers generally should not talk or write (they should just let the music do the talking). It’s like when journalists interview football players after a game. What is the point of that? But, the author supposes, the purpose of this is not to persuade anyone particularly, or go on some kind of crusade — it’s more just an archive of ideas. Take it or leave it, it’s up to you!
